How it Got Started

Fortune Clothing Company, was started in Torino, Italy, by Thomas Jakubiec, who enjoyed buying urban clothing and street-wear in 2011. What started as a passion turned into a formal business plan when the idea of starting a company surfaced. The founder was located in Italy while directing a team in the Metro-Detroit area in Michigan.

After several months of research, designing, negotiating, quality control and revising plans, our first wave of product hit the market. This was a time consuming process because we had several samples sent to us in order to test the quality of both the garments and the ink used to print. We had to change the ink and material several times before it was durable enough to meet our high standards. We truly believe in high quality, so it was worth the time it took to perfect the pieces.

Our products are made in Istanbul Turkey, in a factory hand picked by the company founder. We chose to produce in Istanbul because they have been known throughout history for the highest quality cotton exports in the world. The company founder toured several facilities before choosing the one that we still use to this day. All of our garments are made of 100% High-Quality Cotton from Istanbul, giving our products an amazing touch.

Our vision is to start to change the normal by approaching it in a different way. We incorporate aesthetic, resilience, and innovation with everything that we release. Through utilizing our resources regarding technology, vision and values; we aim to slowly build our brand into a respected, reputable name.

Quality: Our customers react the same way from the quality of the products, receiving very positive feedback. We want to keep striving for this type of feedback by supplying our customers with extremely high quality garments. We have worked very long and hard to ensure both the fabric and ink quality are perfect before production, this remains as our company goal. This goal is to never sacrifice quality for inferior products, this has to stay in our core belief because we are trying to supply products that people love and enjoy.

Design Uniqueness and Meaning: We want to be emitting our own style and image by never looking generic and by designing our product with a fine regard to detail. We want to be original with our styles and designs, and staying fresh with new ideas. Fortune wants to start building its own image, separating us from the other urban clothing brands that exist. A key goal is to grab attention with our sense of uniqueness of fabric and designs. We are also going to continue to implement meaning behind each and every design we choose to print. We like our designs to represent deeper meaning behind the name of the company, Fortune.
